What are we going to make this year?

The most common question we are asked each year about Art, Theatre and Animation camp is: What is the show for the year? The next question is: What are we going to make?

Hopefully by now you have seen our flyer and know that the theme is Circus, Circus!

And as to the art? Well, campers will be doing:

  • a watercolor resist animal painting.
  • a fluorescent animal painting on black paper
  • a torn paper elephant collage
  • a clay animal

  • and a self portrait! (This self portrait was done when this little girl was in 4th grade and now she is getting ready to start high school!)

We are really excited to focus on painting, drawing and clay this year. It’s so much fun to watch our campers grow up through our program and become active participants in our art and theatre programs in high school! These veterans work as camp volunteers and help shepherd campers throughout the day.

We know that your child will love camp too.

Back by Popular Demand

For the 2018 the traditional camp layout is returning. It’s always good to try new things, but sometimes it takes trying something new to decide that we really like it better the way it was…

So for the 2018 camp, we will be offering camp pairings from the past..

You can choose to focus on Art/Theatre or Creative Writing/ Photography each session.. but you can’t do multiple rotations of one thing.. it was just too much for the teachers last year!

So what do you do if you want to do all four rotations?

You come and play all day. $140 for 4 days of 9am-4pm fun is a steal!

Sneak Peek of Art Projects!

When we started this summer camp program one of our goals was to teach campers about making “real” art. We don’t believe in having campers merely color pictures and put together packaged crafts!

For our 2018 camp, the art projects will be focused on modern art and campers will learn about creating poured paintings and sculptures that move. We will also be screen printing as is our tradition and we have a few more projects planned!

Behind the scenes… Creative Writing Camp

Why Creative Writing Camp???

UGH! I hate writing!!

And to that our camp staff says,

No you don’t!  You hate STAAR style writing!!

At Art, Theatre, Photography and Creative Writing Camp, campers have the opportunity to learn and develop their own style of writing in a NO PRESSURE and SUPPORTIVE atmosphere!

All abilities are welcome.

Campers will spend the week creating their very own comic book with characters that they create and bring to life.

Our teacher is an author and she knows how to make WRITING FUN!!

Here is a sneak peek at a couple of the activities planned for the writing campers!
